Hydrofluoric acid plays an important role in extracting aluminium and uranium. It can be used in etching glass and pattern and marking scale and character; In semiconductor industry, it can be used to remove oxide of silicon surface. In oil refinery, it can be used as catalyst for alkylation reaction of iso-butane and butane. Moreover, hydrofluoric acid is also used in the synthesis of various fluorine-containing organic matters.
